the management of the complete Software Development
Life Cycle from project initiation to acceptance.
Specific activities includes:

Developing in collaboration
with both the marketing and R&D teams based
on the market needs. |

Producing and maintaining
a detailed road map defining software variants
and their status. |

Ensuring that quality standards
are met.

Ensuring that the strategy for
configuration management of software is adequate
and correctly implemented.

Recruiting, monitoring and mentoring
resources necessary to ensure the timely and
accurate development of software.

Ensuring competence of software
engineers is adequate for assigned activities
and undertaking training needs assessment
and implementation for directly reporting
engineers.

Reviewing and maintaining software
development processes to ensure that software
produced, is robust, complies with relevant
standards set by the business and is produced
in an efficient and timely manner.

Identifying and implementing
methods and procedures for collection and
reporting of metrics elating to software development.
